Louise is the Senior Partner of Gold Standard Foot Care. She was a consultant podiatrist in Manchester, with 30 years experience in the treatment of diabetes related foot problems. Louise was recognised in ‘The Times’ 2011 as one of the UK’s best health care professionals. She has worked exclusively in the specialist area of diabetes and was awarded an MBE for her services to her profession by the Queen in 2008. Louise was instrumental in setting up the multidisciplinary foot clinic at North Manchester General Diabetes Centre. Fellow of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. Registered with the Health Care Professions Council. Louise was also a lecturer in podiatry at the University of Salford. Nationally Louise has contributed significantly to the development of the NHS foot care standard. Louise is now an extended scope practitioner in Fascial Manipulation.

Gavin Skehan

Gavin Skehan is Associate Partner at Gold Standard Foot Care. He is an experienced podiatrist having previously worked in the NHS for 5 years and privately for over 20 years.

Gavin is now an extended scope practitioner in Stecco Method Fascial Manipulation and Shockwave Therapy.

He has worked extensively with adults who have learning disabilities for over 20 years providing podiatry care.

Whilst working for the NHS Gavin was actively involved with diabetes teams providing specialist foot care. He also has provided valuable input to diabetes research projects at North Manchester Hospital and Chorley Hospital.

In addition to the above Gavin’s skills range from providing nail surgery, assessment and diagnosis of complex foot problems to biomechanical assessments. Gavin’s work ranges from clinic appointments at our Hindley, Leigh and Chorley clinics and network housing contracts.

Jake Yates

Jake joined Gold Standard Foot Care from the University of Salford after achieving a first class honours degree in podiatry.

Having served as a member of the British Army Jake has the experience of working with a variety of people in different settings.

Jake is an experienced personal trainer with a passionate interest in biomechanics. He is keen to utilise his background in personal fitness to use both exercise and mobility training alongside various podiatric strategies to help aid in sporting and muscle skeletal injuries. We are delighted that Jake has joined our team.

Jake predominantly works at the Chorley clinic on Tuesday’s, Fridays and alternate Saturdays. He has an evening clinic at Chorley every Tuesday till 7pm. He also works alternate Saturday’s at the Leyland clinic.

Dr Andrea Graham

Associate Podiatrist

 

A qualified Podiatrist from the University of Salford since 1993, Dr Andrea Graham worked within the NHS for 12 years; culminating in her role as a Specialist Podiatrist within Rheumatology at Wrightington Hospital, Lancs and is now a lecturer/researcher in Podiatry at University of Salford and an established Private Practitioner. Andrea achieved her PhD in 2017. Andrea has presented at international and national conferences, published over 14 peer-reviewed journal articles, contributed to book chapters in relation to patient education, foot health and rheumatoid arthritis and co-developed the foot health section of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society patient support web-site 

Andrea established her own successful business in 2012- a primarily visiting Private Practice treating a broad range of podiatry patients, from children to the elderly, musculoskeletal to skin and nail pathology. Andrea is a keen runner, hiker and a lover of the Great Outdoors – anything with a mountain view.

We look forward to welcoming Andrea to our team she will be primarily based at our Chorley Clinic.

Alison Dewhurst

Alison is an experienced podiatrist with over 30 years experience in the NHS. During this time she has developed skills in high risk foot care, health education, biomechanics and nail surgery.

She has been involved in the National Diabetic Foot Audit of the high risk diabetic foot, in order to improve patient outcomes and has led the diabetic team in Bedford delivering care in both a hospital and community setting.

She is friendly and personable and aims to provide effective care putting clients at the centre of care.

Moushumi Miah

Moushumi joins us from Salford University where she obtained a 1st class degree in Podiatry.

Moushumi heads up our team for Nursing and Residential Home visits.

Moushumi will work with Louise and Gavin at all our Surgeries, where her skills and pleasant personality will be a wonderful asset.

Jodie Quinn

Jodie started at Gold Standard Foot Care as part of our reception team. She has recently qualified from the University of Salford studying Podiatry. Jodie has worked as a dental nurse for 13 years and has great experience working with the general public. Jodie has also worked in Australia as a dental nurse whilst travelling. Jodie is super organised, very friendly and is able to assist with any questions or queries.

Tom Sandy

Tom joined Gold Standard Foot Care once achieving a first-class honours degree in Podiatry from the University of Salford.
Tom previously undertook a degree in biology from Sheffield Hallam University giving him a strong baseline knowledge of pathologies, while studying podiatry Tom managed a small team in the co-op giving him great experience working with the general public.

Tom is very into Personal fitness and is keen to utilise podiatric strategies to help aid in sporting and musculoskeletal injuries. Tom is very friendly and approachable and always puts the patient first when providing care.

Michaela Fielding

Michaela Fielding graduated 2011 from Salford University with Bsc Hons Podiatry. She worked briefly in the NHS before setting out to work in the private sector.

Outside of day to day business Michaela places herself in the heart of the community educating the vulnerable in good foot care practices. Michaela is Good natured and very approachable and always puts her clients at ease.

Michaela brings to Gold Standard experience in Verruca needling, nail reconstruction and nail surgery.

Michaela will be working at both our Hindley and Leigh clinics.

Kelly Amphlett

Associate Podiatrist

Kelly Amphlett graduated from Huddersfield university in 1999. She started work for the NHS and has 21 years of experience.

Kelly still practices within the NHS today, as an advanced specialist podiatrist, within the  high risk and diabetic foot.

Kelly is enthusiastic, friendly and is looking forward to working with the gold standard foot care team at the Chorley branch on alternate Saturdays.

Sarah Jacobson

Sarah is joining the team at Gold Standard Foot Care as an Associate Podiatrist working at the Prestwich Foot Clinic. Sarah is an experienced podiatrist qualifying 17 years ago. Sarah specialises in the treatment of the elderly and of young children.

Sarah is no stranger to Gold Standard Foot Care as our Managing Director, Louise Stuart, was her lecturer as a student podiatrist. Sarah is a local Prestwich girl with a passion for her job and she is looking forward to working with the team at Gold Standard Foot Care.

Deborah Ruff

Vascular Nurse

Debbie Ruff is a lead nurse for vascular services in North Manchester, with a Masters degree in nursing and specialist qualifications in vascular nursing and leg ulcer management. She has 30 years experience within the NHS of with the last 25 years have been exclusively in the specialist  treatment of complex wounds in the lower limb and foot. She specialises in the management of both venous and arterial disease.
Debbie has devleoped joint vascular/diabetes clinics across North Manchester to work colaboratively in providing specialist lower limb services.Her skills are in lower limb vascular assessment, leg ulcer management and diabetic/non diabetic foot ulceration.
Debbie lectures at the University of Salford and at National conferences on vascular /diabetes related complications.

Lee Murphy - MRes FCPodS

Podiatric Surgeon

Mr Lee Murphy holds an NHS post as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he leads the Department of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He  also runs NHS clinics at Euxton Hall Hospital (near Chorley) and the Oaklands Hospital in Greater Manchester. He offers private consultations and surgery at various sites around the Northwest. His specialist surgical interests include bunion surgery, metatarsalgia, lesser toe deformities and complex forefoot reconstruction. He uses an open and honest evidence based approach with his patients, which enables you to make informed choices about the treatment options for your foot problem.

Veronica Newton

Veronica Newton has worked as a Podiatrist for over twenty years in both the NHS, private sector and in educational settings. Veronica has a diverse range of skills in caring for people with mobility problems. Her Master’s Degree focused on limited joint mobility in people with diabetes. Veronica is currently studying for a PhD at Salford University whilst continuing as a Lecturer at University and as an Associate Podiatrist with Gold Standard Foot Care.

Jess is our Practice Manager and Secretary. She is your first point of contact, efficient and personable, Jess has an excellent rapport with our clientele and ensures the clinics run smoothly; she will do everything possible to handle your appointment and answer questions concerning your treatment. Shelley Kennedy

We are delighted to have appointed Shelley to reception at Gold Standard Foot and Leg Clinic. Shelley is bringing with her a professional background as an experienced medico legal secretary. She is very approachable, always willing to make time for others and has endless amounts of positive energy, enthusiasm and self-motivation. Shelley is passionate about helping others and has done a lot of work helping young adults with autism and Down syndrome lead more independent lives. Shelley is a highly active sporty girl who is a fully trained fitness instructor and we look forward to working with her at Gold Standard.

Sarah Walsh

Sarah is currently a student at Salford University studying Podiatry in her second year. She has a background in customer service, retail and administration. Sarah is joining our team as a receptionist at the Chorley Clinic. Sarah is looking forward to a long and happy journey with Gold Standard Footcare.
